  • Imagine you are a soldier at war. Write a letter home describing your experiences. Use a range of clauses and at least one semi-colon.
  • Write a diary entry of someone who has survived a night in London during the blitz. Use a range of adverbials and powerful verbs to add description.
  • Find a wartime poem and analyse it – think about language, rhyme and meaning
  • Find the mean shoe size of your family.
  • Create a poster showing the rules of the different averages: mean, median, mode and range. Remember to include examples.
  • Complete a statistics investigation in your family: Ask a question, collect data using a tally chart and present your data in a bar or pie chart.
  • Create a timeline of key events in WW2.
  • Create a factfile about a key leader in WW2 – This could be Churchill, Hitler or Stalin.
  • Find a wartime artist and recreate one of their works.
  • Make a model of a vehicle used in WW2: this could be a plane, boat, tank or train.
  • Create a map showing the alliances between countries in WW2.
  • Create a diagram showing how we see the moon.
