This week we will continue reading our class text called ‘There’s no dragon in this story’. Children will be writing simple sentences and innovating the story writing their own simple version for what happens next.

Monday 

Recap the children’s innovated version of there’s no dragon in this story. Discuss and refer to the graphic organiser ordering the pictures from the story.

 

Model writing what happens first in the new version of the story.

Peer critique – choose a piece of work that the child is confident to share with the class.

 

Refer back to the success criteria – children think of thumbs for what the child has done well. 2 stars and 1 wish for what they could ‘remember for next time’.

 

Friday

Look at another piece as a class and repeat activity.

 

Repeat activity from yesterday looking at children’s work and discussing what they have done well and what they could ‘remember for next time’.

 

Celebrate children’s work and share the book created as a class together.
