Draw the number block 16 and discuss everything we know – one more, one less etc. Using two tens frame model counting out ten counters. Model counting out 12, then 15. What do you notice? Can they see a pattern? A Recap last week when we learnt about numicon. When numbers begin to above 10 they need a full tens frames then ones to make the number, just like the numicon. What would happen for 16?

Thursday:

Recap of the numbers 11-16 using learning wall. We now know that numbers over 10 consist of a full ten then a number of ones. After 10 numbers go up from 1-9 until the next 10. 20,30 etc. Can you see the pattern? Count to 100 with Jack Hartman and see if you can remember the pattern.
