Events in School (12th-16th March 2018)
The penultimate week of the term. It is as busy as ever, with several sporting events, a class assembly, Book Fayre, a visit from a sport personality and our rescheduled World Book Day. Throughout the week, we are celebrating Science Week. Children from every year group will be looking at a science investigation with it all coming to a close on Friday with a special science assembly.
Monday 12th -
Let's Get Fit for Sport Relief - Children in Years 4,5 and 6 will be given the opportunity to meet Beth Dobbin and complete a fitness workshop with her. Beth, who was born in Doncaster, is hoping to compete in the 200m at the Commonwealth Games in a couple of weeks time. The children in Y4, 5 and 6 will have a half an hour slot to work with Beth. Children who still have sponsorship forms for this can still bring them into the office to help raise as much money for Sport Relief. Can all children from Y4, Y5 and Y6 have their PE kit and suitable trainers.
Beth will also be leading an assembly for all of our children at the end of the day.
Book Fayre - The Book Fayre will be open in the morning (8.30am - 8.50am) and afternoon (3.30pm - 4.00pm). Come and see what books we have. This will be last opportunity to buy books from the Book Fayre.
Imagination Library (Foundation 1 and 2)- Come and read with your child from 11.15(morning group) and 3pm (afternoon group). Share your favourite book and experiences of reading with our Foundation children.
Y3/4 and Y5/6 Tag Rugby Tournament - Mr Brown has organised a Tag-Rugby tournament against Sunnyfields and Townfields. This will be held at High Street.
World Book Day - Children can dress up as their favourite book character or in pyjamas. Come and share your favourite book with the class from 8.50am. Year groups are providing a free breakfast. Throughout the day, children will be reading and researching the works of Beatrix Potter.
Year 6 SAT's Information Meeting - Year 6 staff will be holding a meeting for Parents/Carers regarding SATs. It will provide very useful information about SATs week and they will be able to answer any questions you may have. (3.30pm and 5pm)
4D Class Assembly (10.15- main hall) - Children in 4D will be celebrating their topic with an assembly. They will be answering the question "Why is Doncaster such a cool place to live?
Parents Phonics and Spelling Drop In - Parents are invited to come and watch the phonics sessions in Year 1 and Spelling in Year 2. This is running from 9am until 9.30am
Sublime Science Dry Ice Assembly - All of school will be watching an assembly by Sublime Science Dry Ice Show from 2 o'clock.
