No.1 uses the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to plan enhanced provision for your child. Alongside the EYFS, we also use In the Moment Planning which focuses on each child’s individual needs and interests to ensure a bespoke learning experience. Children will be given rich and stimulating opportunities to support effective learning and development, and high-quality care through positive relationships.

“Children are born with a natural desire to explore and learn and practitioners can support them in this.  We do this by creating an enabling environment … and through the relationships and interactions that the children experience. We observe carefully, and enhance the learning whenever we spot a “teachable moment”.

This is a simple message – Let the children choose what to do, join them and support them in their pursuits” Anna Ephgrave, 2015.

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up” Early Years Foundation Stage Profile, DCSF, 2012.
