To recognise a range of technology is used in homes and schools.

 

Vocabulary:

Monday:

This week we will be learning about the different technology we use at home and in school. We will be seeing what they are used for and how they work.

What do children already know about technology? What is it? What examples can you think of? Create a mind map.

Using the Powerpoint discuss the different examples of technology. Where do we see them? What are they used for?

Tuesday - Jigsaw Focus:

Learning Intention: To understand the impact of unkind words.

 

How does it feel when someone says unkind things to you? What is it like to say unkind things to others? Together read the words/phrases (see PowerPoint) and decide whether they are kind or unkind. Sort them into the magic box or the stinky bin.

Challenge 1: Can you circle the emoji to show whether the words are kind or unkind. Circle the word kind or unkind to show what is happening in the 4 pictures.

Challenge 2: Cut out the heart. Scrunch it up and lay it out again. Write a caption in the heart to show how you feel when people say unkind things.

Can you help Miss Reeves create a table deciding what technology we use at home and at school? Are there any objects we can use for both? What would not be good to use at school or home? Ie: aeroplane, digger, traffic lights. Class discussion.

Can you help me find the correct objects for each job? What are the objects used for? Are they used at home? At school? Both?
