This week children will be recapping rhyming. We will be continuing rhyming strings and finding words that rhyme.

-To continue a rhyming string.  

-To segment and blend sounds in words.

Monday:

This week we are recapping rhyming. Re-introduce that rhyming is – it is when a word sounds the same as another. D-o-g and l-o-g both end in –og. They rhyme.

Tuesday

Jigsaw Focus: 

LI: I can tell you some of the things I do and eat to stay healthy. 

Look closely at the PowerPoint presntation. Can you sort the given food into the healthy and unhealthy jars? Is it OK to sometime eat food that is unhealthy? Next look at the different activities. Can you decide whether they seem to be healthy or unhealthy? Can you think of any other healthy activities that you might do? 

Challenge 1: Sort the food into Healthy and unhealthy 

Challenge 2: Can you label the activities that help us stay healthy? 

Challenge 3: Can you cut out foods that make a healthy and unhealthy plate? 

Wednesday:

Using the powerpoint Stop telling fibs can chn find the rhyming words? What skills do we need to remember when rhyming?  

 

Recap the provision activities referring back to our success criteria. 

Thursday:

Using the rhyming match sheet from provision can we match the rhyming photographs? What other words rhyme with that string?

 

Friday:

Using the rhyming match sheet from provision can we match the rhyming photographs? What other words rhyme with that string?
