In English this week, we will be starting our new unit on writing a diary entry. This week, we will be introduced to our audience and purpose, look at key features of a diary, plan and then begin to write our diary extract.
In Maths, this week our focus is Decimals and Percentages. We start with understanding percentages before moving onto percentages as decimals and fractions. Later in the week we will be learning about fraction, decimal and percentage equivalents. We will be finishing the week by practising some test-style questions.
In Reading, we will be continuing with more retrieval tasks using our class text, Beowulf.
Wider Curriculum – this week we will be moving onto our summer RE unit where our focus questions is ‘What does it mean to be a Muslim in Britain today?’. We will be looking at The Five Pillars of Islam, the Qur’an, who was Muhammad, Mosques and finishing the week thinking about the Qur’an ‘Commandments’.
