For this week’s reading, we are focused on a section of Harry Potter, we will be thinking about the different vocabulary JK Rowling uses which makes her writing so effective.
In English, we will be finishing out Christmas writing ready for display. We will begin the week focusing on how we can edit and improve our letters to Amelia Wishart. Once complete we will, use the writing paper to write up in neat our letters.
In extended write we are writing a narrative description of a literacy shed video with a focus on cohesion between our paragraphs.
In maths, we will be starting the week by looking at time intervals. This is in preparation for our work on timetables. Throughout the remainder of the week we will be learning to read and interpret timetables, before finishing off on Friday carrying out problem solving activities linked to our timetable work.
Topic: Unfortunately, we are unable to complete our music block (focusing on singing) in school this week due to Covid19 restrictions, therefore we will be using the time to complete Christmas cards and calendars (see image below to get an idea for what we are doing). If you would like to create something ‘crafty’ or ‘arty’ at home, we would love to see your creations on the Seesaw website!
Please continue to practice your spellings, and read (and record in your planner) three times per week. Remember, you will be entered into the raffle if you do this!
We hope you have a great week.
