Week beginning 4/10/21
This week in English our text is Walter's Wonderful Web. You can watch the story here.
Monday - listen to the book and talk about what happened in the story.
Tuesday - listen to the story again and join in with the repeated phrases 'Whoosh went the wind and blew the web away.'
Wednesday - look at the pictures and discuss the questions in the 'book talk' document below.
Thursday - Draw a web for Walter. What shape have you chosen? Can you write a label to say what it is?
Friday - make a spider using junk materials. Use it to help you retell the story.
In Maths, we are learning to use the words 'more' and 'fewer' to compare two sets of objects. Choose one of the activities each day to practice sorting, counting and comparing objects at home.
As part of Black History Month we are learning about Notting Hill Carnival. Watch the videos to learn how people celebrate the carnival.
Use junk materials to make a mask or headdress to celebrate the carnival. You could use an old bottle to make a shaker and decorate it using coloured paper. Put on some Caribbean music and have your own carnival parade at home!
