World War II

In this topic, you will learn about WW2 and the impact on children in Britain compared with the impact on children elsewhere in Europe.

You will learn about life in Britain for children during the war by looking at the life and journey of an evacuee.

You will compare this to life in Germany for a child during the war and what it was like to join the Hitler Youth.

You will then learn about life elsewhere in Europe for Jewish and black children and how they were subject to persecution, racism and slavery. We will look in particular at Anne Frank.

We will end this sequence of learning by comparing the different experiences for children during the war.
