Meet our team...
"What would Dora the Explorer find exciting about our town?"
Skills for learning
Children will be taught strategies for life-long learning. Throughout this topic we will be reflecting of different historical people and events, collaborating with each other to solve different problems and show resilience across the whole curriculum.
As this is a local study, we will be examining Bentley and Doncaster closely to find out famous people and events in history from the area. We will also be experiencing our local theatre towards the end of the term.
In year 2, we will be learning about how to stay fit and healthy, including our mental health and self-esteem. Every day, children will participate in the Daily Mile in hope to improve physical health.
Throughout the year, we will be covering a range of objectives along with help from Jigsaw Jo. We know how important it is to understand ourselves and others religions and beliefs, how to effectively work with each other, morals values and individual self-worth.
Language and communication
Across all areas of the curriculum, children will discuss their opinions and justify them, listen to other children and respect their ideas, take part in debates, present information orally to others and enhance their vocabulary.
For both classes, children will need their PE kits on Monday and Friday.
4th December - CAST
Children will be given home learning every fortnight. It will either be a English, Maths or Topic activity. Please come and speak to a member of the year 2 term if you have any questions, need support/resources or any other problems.
